One Cruise Passenger Killed, Nine Injured in Offshore Excursion Bus Crash

A passenger of the P&O ship Azura has been killed and nine others injured in a bus accident during an offshore excursion in the Caribbean.

The collision occurred midday Wednesday, as the victims rode on a bus carrying ten Azura passengers and twelve riders in total. The vehicle, operated by a shore excursion provider, was reportedly coming from the Emerald Pool, a popular tourist attraction on Dominica island. Jamaica Tour Bus Accident Kills One Royal Caribbean Cruise Passenger, Injures Others

Earlier today, the Jamaica Observer reported that a number of cruise passengers sustained injuries in a a four-vehicle crash.  The passengers were traveling on a tour bus on their way back from the Dunn’s River Beach in St Ann along the Carey Park main road in Trelawny.

Injured passengers were taken to the Falmouth Public General Hospital.  Subsequent Twitter posts by Royal Caribbean Cruise Line revealed that 21 passengers from Independence of the Seas participating in an excursion in Falmouth, Jamaica were involved in the crash.

Princess Cruises Passenger Reported Dead in Snorkeling Accident

A Princess Cruise Line passenger sailing aboard Caribbean Princess has been reported dead following an off-ship snorkeling trip in Belize.

As reported by Breaking Belize News, 67-year-old Janice Mittelstadt was touring with Hugh Parkey’s Belize Dive Connection at Sergeants Caye. According to Tourism Police’s Superintendent Gualberto Garcia, Mittelstadt submerged suddenly, and was pronounced dead after being retrieved and administered emergency assistance. Though the cause of death is unknown, police called the incident a “snorkeling accident.”
