The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don’t have any.
~ Alice Walker ~

With my first entry on this blog, I’d like to share one of my favorite quotes. It reminds me why I practice law and why I want to help those who were wronged by others and feel victimized and powerless. Representing those in need brings meaning to my life and allows me to return the power to the injured.  Many victims of someone else’s wrong forgo pursuing the true value of their claim because someone along the way told them they were wrong, that what is being offered in compensation is all they can get, or that they are owed nothing because the harm they suffered was due to their own fault.

But, it doesn’t have to be so. You have the power to seek what you deserve. If you are injured, you should find an experienced and compassionate attorney that will fight for you, believe in you, communicate with you every step of the way, and ultimately recover what your claim is truly worth. That is my goal, and I work tirelessly to protect my client’s rights to make them whole and place the blame for their injuries where it belongs.

With my practice’s focus on maritime claims, I continuously monitor news and legal developments affecting the shipping and cruise industry. In the coming days, I will be posting breaking news and stories affecting cruise ship passengers and crew members, as well as some useful tips and guides. I invite you to share any comments you have and start a conversation on what matters to you.

Attorneys visiting my blog might be interested in my posts in the “Legal Developments” category where I’ll post my commentary on important recent court decisions and changes in U.S. and international laws affecting our practice.

So whether you’re someone interested in the cruise industry or an attorney practicing maritime and admiralty law, I say welcome one and all.
